The setting

Welcome to
Arden's Reach.

One town. Two banks. A bridge holding them close enough to collide.

The Sanguine River

Two places that share a name.

The river is a boundary, a route, and the first fact everyone learns about town. On one bank stand the university and the institutions that draw the maps. On the other are the addresses that appear inside them.

West Bank

Old money.
Old university.
Older grudges.

Crown Heights rises above the river in stone, brick, columns and endowments. Amesbury University has shaped the town for generations—and has plans for what comes next.

East Bank

Everyone who
actually lives here.

The Flats holds studios, storefronts, family businesses and buildings that have outlived every plan drawn around them. This is where an expansion announcement stops being policy and becomes an address.

Blackwood Bridge

The shortest distance between two versions of the same town.

People cross for work, for family, for love, and for meetings where the future has already been printed. In Both Sides of the River, every route eventually reaches the bridge.
